Brownsburg Lacrosse Receives US Lacrosse First Stick Grant - Our plans...

For the upcoming 2015 Spring Lacrosse season, Brownsburg Lacrosse will be able to provide helmets and full sets of pads for a minimal rental fee as well as discounted US Lacrosse membership for up to 25 first year participants to their boys program. This grant provides us the opportunity to introduce lacrosse to a group of players who otherwise might not be able to participate, or who might be hesitant because of the initial cost of lacrosse equipment. If you are unsure if your child will enjoy the sport, this is a chance to get him involved for minimal investment. We feel that anyone who tries it will fall in love with it and will be excited to continue playing for many years.

Our inaugural season saw us field 3 youth teams as well as a high school level team – all comprising around 75 players. For the Spring 2015 season we are hoping to expand those numbers for all of the boy’s teams and are also developing a girl’s lacrosse program as well as a co-ed Little Laxers program for those in Kindergarten thru 2nd grade. The Little Laxers program will provide sticks and will be using softie lacrosse balls, so no other equipment purchase will be necessary.

All interested players – boys and girls in grades Kindergarten thru 12th from anywhere in Hendricks County - are encouraged to come see what lacrosse is all about at our upcoming FREE Clinic on Sunday, October 26th from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Avon Middle School North in the field just to the south of the school. After learning some of the basics of the game at the clinic, there will be a showcase of boy's lacrosse by our youth players so attendees can see those skills put into action.

Brownsburg Lacrosse is partnering with Avon Junior Athletic Association for this event continuing with our mission of growing the sport across all of Hendricks County.

Registration for the clinic can be found at www.BrownsburgLacrosse.com or you can receive additional information by emailing BrownsburgLax@gmail.com.
